League Governance & Legal Terms

Terms of Service & Conditions of Participation

These terms govern all participants, parents, legal guardians, coaches, spectators, and volunteers associated with the Rainier Clatskanie Youth Soccer Club (RCYSC). By registering a player, paying registration dues, or utilizing our digital portal, you agree to comply with these terms.

1 Non-Profit Mission & Non-Commercial Status

Rainier Clatskanie Youth Soccer Club (RCYSC) is an Oregon non-profit public benefit corporation recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Our sole purpose is to provide organized amateur youth athletic programs, coaching, sportsmanship education, and healthy community recreation for children in Columbia County, Oregon. RCYSC does not sell commercial goods, physical merchandise, or retail retail products. All financial dues collected represent player registration fees and league assessments allocated directly to field permits, team uniforms, insurance premiums, equipment, and certified referee compensation.

2 Registration Accuracy & Player Eligibility

By completing a player registration on behalf of a minor, the parent or legal guardian affirms:

  • You are at least 18 years old and possess the legal authority to enroll the child in athletic programs.
  • All submitted player details, including legal birth date, residence address, and emergency contact details, are truthful, accurate, and up-to-date. Falsification of birth dates to manipulate division placement will result in immediate disqualification without refund.
  • You will promptly inform the club registrar and coaching staff of any changes to emergency contact numbers or relevant player medical information.

3 Code of Conduct & Sportsmanship

The primary goal of RCYSC is character development, fun, and sportsmanship. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy toward disruptive, unsportsmanlike, or threatening conduct:

Respect for Match Referees

Many of our referees are local youth who are learning the craft. Verbal abuse, dissent, insults, or harassment directed at referees by parents, spectators, or coaches will result in immediate removal from facility premises and potential suspension from future games.

Positive Sideline Culture

Spectators and parents agree to remain in designated spectator areas, cheer constructively for all players, refrain from coaching from the sideline, and allow volunteer team coaches to instruct players during matches and practices.

4 Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability

Soccer is an active physical contact sport. Participation involves inherent physical risks, including but not limited to sprains, fractures, concussions, collisions with players or goalposts, falls, and adverse weather conditions.

In consideration of the minor being permitted to participate, parents and guardians expressly assume all risks incidental to soccer and agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Rainier Clatskanie Youth Soccer Club, Oregon Youth Soccer Association (OYSA), US Youth Soccer, board directors, volunteer coaches, referees, municipal field owners, and sponsors from any and all claims, demands, actions, or liability arising from ordinary negligence or injury incurred during club activities.

5 Emergency Medical Authorization

In the event of acute injury or sudden illness when the primary parent or emergency contact cannot be immediately reached, the parent/guardian grants authorization to club team coaches, referees, and board officials to obtain emergency first aid and to authorize licensed medical professionals, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and hospitals to administer necessary emergency medical treatment, hospital transport, and diagnostic care.

6 Payment Terms & Installment Plans

Payment in full (or enrollment in an approved installment plan or verified scholarship application) is required prior to a player participating in team practices or receiving uniforms:

  • Stripe Processing: All online credit/debit card transactions are processed securely via Stripe. Card credentials are encrypted and never stored on club servers.
  • Installment Plans: If opting for monthly installments, you authorize automatic debit charges against your stored payment method on scheduled due dates. If a scheduled installment fails, you will be notified and given a 10-day grace period to update payment details before player game participation may be suspended.
  • Disputes: If you believe a billing error occurred, please contact treasurer@rcysc.org immediately to resolve the item amicably.

7 Photography & Media Release

RCYSC occasionally captures photographs or video clips of soccer matches, award ceremonies, and team activities to share club news on our website and official social media channels. Photos are never associated with full sensitive personal details. Parents who wish to opt-out of player photography may do so during registration or by sending written notice to info@rcysc.org.
